Eddie Mugavero: music
FOR A SONG
(Written by Eddie Mugavero & Chris Enghauser-Performed by BadaBing BadaBoom)
Chris had this cool bass riff, so we decided to write a song around it. I remember us writing chords and then a melody, thinking Beatles meet Al Hirt. A very different way to write a song. Took it home and wrote these words. One of my most enjoyable co-writing sessions ever and maybe my favorite song on our "JONESIN'" album. How do I know this song is cool? My brother got married last year, and out of all the songs I have ever written, he chose this one to be part of his DJ wedding mix. Bro knows music. We had fun producing it in the studio too. We had the session booked, and we didn't have an 'outro'. I was up all night, then came up with the 'BadaBing BadaBoom' vocal ending. It is our "Hey Jude". Well, not quite....lol.. I think the message speaks to everyone who plays music for a living. We do it for the song, and for the people who listen.
FOR A SONG
SONG WHERE WILL YOU TAKE ME?
SONG..SPARE ME OR BREAK ME
HERE WE GO AGAIN..
GOD HELP ME IGNORE THESE
ODDS SWELLING BEFORE ME
STEER ME TO THE END
FOR A SONG WHAT I DO FOR A SONG
RIGHT OR WRONG WHAT I CHOOSE FOR A SONG
ALL TO GAIN ALL TO LOSE
ALL IN THE NAME OF RHYME, RHYTHM, AND BLUES
FOR A SONG, WHAT I DO FOR A SONG!
MY CHOICES HAVE MADE ME
MY VOICES PERSUADE ME
I’M WHERE I BELONG
FOR A SONG WHAT I GIVE FOR A SONG
SHORT OR LONG I WILL LIVE FOR A SONG
LET IT PLAY LET IT SING
PUSH MY BUTTONS AND PULL MY STRING
FOR A SONG WHAT I DO FOR A SONG!
