The beauty of writing for a band is having people to bounce things off of. If I finished something and wasn't sure about it, I'd let Mo and Rebecca be the judge. This is one of several that never would have seen the light of day had not the gals loved it. I got to play bass on this one and sing it too. I think the message is pretty honest.

Lyrics

EVERYBODY WANTS WHAT THEY AIN’T GOT

OLD WANTS YOUNG AND YOUNG WANTS OLD
COLD WANTS HOT AND HOT WANTS COLD
FAT WANTS THIN AND THIN WANTS FAT
HERE WANTS THERE AND THIS WANTS THAT

EVERYBODY WANTS WHAT THEY AIN’T GOT
LOOKIN’ IN THE BUSH KILLS THE BIRD IN THE HAND
MAN I SWEAR THERE AIN’T NOTHIN’ OVER THERE
STILL EVERYBODY WANTS WHAT THEY AIN’T GOT

PITCHERS WANNA HIT AND HITTERS WANNA PITCH
MARRIED WANTS SINGLE AND SINGLE WANTS HITCHED
CURLS WANT STRAIGHT AND STRAIGHT WANTS A WAVE
BALD WANTS HAIR AND HAIR WANTS A SHAVE

RHYME WANTS RHYTHM AND RHYTHM WANTS RHYME
TIME WANTS MONEY AND MONEY WANTS TIME
SINGERS WANNA PLAY THE PLAYERS WANNA SING
EVERYBODY WANTS A LITTLE BADABOOM BADABING
